So this is a term thats been thrown around considerably in the last few years and I think that it’s time someone offered a good basic explanation of what it is. So here it is. In basic form, Cloud Hosting is the act of backing up your company and work files in the ethers of the internet. Instead of having it all stored on yoru own hard disk or even have lots of physical entities lying around the place open to damage and theft, you’re just hosting it all online, intrinsically linking it all through the likes of google, yahoo etc.
Obvoiously their are certain risks with all of this. You are putting yourself out there as a target to hackers etc, who if they could break into your online vaults could severely affect your end output. There is also the chance that in the unlikely sudden demise of the internet you could lose everything. Although, let’s face it, if the internet did go down it would probably be the end of the world anyway and we’d all die.
